Wheaton Wins 4th Straight, Downs Norwich on Senior DayNORTON, MA- Sophomore Chris Landers (Manchester, MA/Proctor Academy) tallied five times to lead nine goal scorers during Wheaton College's 16-4 Pilgrim League men's lacrosse victory over Norwich University on Saturday during Senior Day in Mirrione Stadium. Winners of four straight, the Lyons are now 4-6 overall and 4-1 in league play, as they remain tied for second in the conference standings. The Cadets fell to 2-7 and 0-5.

Landers tallied a man-up marker just 3:13 into the contest to give Wheaton a lead it did not relinquish, and a 10-0 Lyon run between the second and fourth quarters blew open a four-goal game. Sophomore Ben Cederberg (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) and freshman Billy McNamara (Mansfield, MA/Northfield Mount Hermon School) each contributed two goals and three assists, while first-year Mike Harrington (Sturbridge, MA/Bancroft School) turned in a pair of markers and helpers each.

Senior Chris Gogan-Tilstone (Amherst, NH/Souhegan) was one of five players to score once, as he turned in his initial college tally during his first season playing for the Lyons. Juniors Warren Garceau (Guilford, CT/Canterbury School) and Tim Horan (Cheshire, CT/Cheshire) and sophomores Bobby Barry (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) and Will Henry (Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams) also each found the back of the net once.

Junior Andrew Brunhofer (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) and freshman Charlie Willauer (Duxbury, MA/Proctor Academy) each won a team-high four face-offs, while junior Schuyler Horn (New Hartford, CT/Kingswood-Oxford School) made nine saves.

Wheaton gained a 4-0 advantage by the 6:08 mark of the opening quarter, tallying the first quartet of markers in a 5:39 stretch. Each team scored twice during the ensuing 8:02, but the Lyons reeled off 10 consecutive tallies in a span of 32:18 to put the game out of reach. Norwich netted the final two goals of the contest, snapping a 36:58 scoreless drought when sophomore Tyler Woods (Essex Junction, VT/Essex) tallied at 4:03.

Woods notched a goal and an assist for the Cadets, while junior Kyle Marzeoti (Billerica, MA/Shawsheen Tech) scored twice and went 10-for-16 on face-offs. Freshman Nathan Proctor (Pleasanton, CA/Foothill) made 15 stops in net.

Their four-game home slate now complete, the Lyons take to the road on Wednesday for a 3:00 p.m. Pilgrim contest with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Wheaton and the Engineers are tied for second in the league standings.
